Review
This USC endowed chair chronicles her mental health journey through schizophrenia. It is a very intense, yet ultimately inspiring journey. A very interesting glimpse into the mind and feelings of someone who loses touch with reality and the mental health system created to deal with it. The book has good momentum throughout the story and offers good reflections throughout. As a rare successful schizophrenic this is a unique story, but the struggle with the illness is the centerpiece of the book and the same struggles surface again and again. The lessons and journey could be conveyed in less words, but life is rarely so clean. It seems so brutal to rate someone's intense, personal struggle 3/5 stars as if someone's life is a commodity to quantified and sold next to pencils.
