Compelling sci-fi. Science man protagonist provides some actually interesting and fun yet educational explorations of science and his world. Great story arc with powerful emotional moments. Wasn’t as much a story of character development as a story exploring what it means to be human with cosmic decisions. The characters are mostly caricature so doesn't feel too real, but in the end I was deeply engaged with the story and relatable protagonist. For a sci-fi story about cosmic decisions, it is surprisingly light and fun, peppered with jokes and banter.
