Wow, I forget how engrossing fiction could be. This was a triumph of the human spirit and culture. Amazing world building that really created an immersive and expansive world with a great feeling of depth and culture. I love these Death Note esque mind games and titans of intellect playing chess matches with nations. Many memorable ideas and quotes struck me. I did find the ending a little underwhelming and almost rushed with some moments that could have been fleshed out. But, maybe I just didn't want it to end. I'm now a fan of House Atreides and will fondly remember the fearless Fremen on the desert planet of Arrakissssssss “Seek freedom and become captive of your desires. Seek discipline and find your liberty.”
